Lexi&Bö design T-shirts for the protection of species

With a shirt especially designed for Yaqu Pacha we once again want to support their projects for the protection of species. The entire returns will be donated to Yaqu Pacha, thus supporting scientists in Brazil and their program for the protection of sea mammals.

With a shirt especially designed for Yaqu Pacha we once again want to support their projects for the protection of species. The entire returns will be donated to Yaqu Pacha, thus supporting scientists in Brazil and their program for the protection of sea mammals. Like all Lexi&Bö shirts this T-shirt is produced under fair working conditions with sustainable bio-cotton. The production meets strict criteria for the GOTS label.

Last year, during our crowdfunding campaign, we already decided to donate a large part of our revenues to the marine protection organization Yaqu Pacha. In Yaqu Pacha we had found a reliable partner whose work we wanted to support. After several chats with founder Dr. Lorenzo von Fersen we were sure that donations would reach the right destination. Thanks to last year's campaign we were able to donate 400 € to the scientists in Brazil, who study the behavior and habitat use of different sea mammals near the coast.

Results of the study shall be used to take measures to protect the animals from trawls and other threats of the fishing industry. As a result of their work the Brazilian government passed a tough fishing law in 2012. In the near future, animals from other areas shall also benefit from these precautionary measures. The educational work with local fishers leads to a change of views and – in the longrun – will stop the overfishing of our oceans.

Why we support Yaqu Pacha

Yaqu Pacha supports researchers in Brazil to explore the habitat of the bottlenose dolphins. The goal is the development of protective measures. Some of the results from studies conducted by Yaqu Pacha have lead to a new fishing law, which the Brazilian government enacted in 2012.
