Donation Delivery At Yaqu Pacha

After the reaching our Indiegogo campaign’s funding goal, we met with Dr. Lorenzo von Fersen to personally hand him our donation. Overall, we sold 180 shirts during the crowdfunding campaign. This allowed us to not only pay for our costs of production, but also to provide Yaqu Pacha with a 400€ donation.

After reaching our Indiegogo campaign’s funding goal, we met with Dr. Lorenzo von Fersen to personally hand him our donation. Overall, we sold 180 shirts during the crowdfunding campaign. This allowed us to not only pay for our costs of production, but also to provide Yaqu Pacha with a 400 € donation. Not only Yaqu Pacha was delighted about it. As passionate divers, we care about a healthy underwater world. Since we can’t help in the depth of the seas, we do it this way. Just like our motto: Look good. Feel good

Why the bottlenose dolphin project is so important

Numerous studies prove, that the bottlenose dolphin is threatened by extinction in many countries. In most cases, their biggest predators are fishermen, because hundreds of underwater animals end up in their nets; often with mortal consequences.

What's Yaqu Pacha's role?

Yaqu Pacha supports researchers at the Universidad do Rio Grande in the south of Brazil. Said group examines local populations of the bottlenose dolphin.

The goal of this project consists of examining biological parameters, such as life expectancy, size of population, distribution and habitat use. Based on those results, additional protection measures will be implemented for the dolphins; ideally, those measures can also be applied elsewhere.

Specifically because those measurements can also be implemented elsewhere, we think this is a great project. 400€ are not a whole lot, but we plan to support Yaqu Pacha going forward.

We’ll keep you posted!

Why we support Yaqu Pacha

Yaqu Pacha supports researchers in Brazil to explore the habitat of the bottlenose dolphins. The goal is the development of protective measures. Some of the results from studies conducted by Yaqu Pacha have lead to a new fishing law, which the Brazilian government enacted in 2012.
